Retro Girl

Something about this look made me feel so retro rebel. I love it! I'm back to wearing my favorite Spring heels with socks again lol. See how I pulled it off HERE!!!
I love this skirt for two reasons, the color and the pockets! There is just something about a skirt with pockets. Ugh..I'm a slave to them. I also love this headband from American Apparel. I plan on getting it in some other colors too. Love how I can twist it into a little bow or rosette or what ever I see fit.
Pretty cool idea. See more of my retro looks HERE!!!

This is the outfit I wore Friday to the Topshop 214 magazine release writer/blogger event.
I got these shorts 2 weeks ago when I was in North Carolina visiting my family. They were such a fashion STEELE!!! I got them at Urban Outfitter's for $19.
Also I got my hair cut! These are better photos showing the style. I like it a lot (in my Forest Gump voice).
I'm really into wearing shorts with hosiery for some reason. It's probably because I am ready to wear shorts but this weather in NYC just wont let me.
Warning...my next few post will consist of me in shorts with opaque tights..haha.
What do you all think of the hair cut???

TOPSHOP 214 Magazine Release Blogger/Writer Event

I attended an awesome event at TOPSHOP in Soho on Friday to celebrate the launch of TOPSHOP 214 Magazine. Mega-Blogger Karen Blanchard from Where Did U Get That was there along with Indigo Clarke who is a fashion journalist and columnist. A lot of the bloggers from NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup Group were also in attendance as well. We had a great time getting wonderful advice and tips...and shopping ofcourse.
Karen and Indigo
Check their footwork...I'm in love!

Syreeta from NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup Group and blog Mosa Muse showed up.

One of my favorite bloggers Nubia of Nubia's Nonsense and also a member of NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup Group was in attendance as well. I originally met her at IFB Conference!

Who is super stoked is this picture...I AM! This is my second time meeting Karen and she is so sweet and humble. This is my second photo with her see my first photo when I met her at IFB Conference. For those who don't know Karen is who inspired me to start my blog. Last year she was featured in AmNY and I was just in awe. She gave us some awesome advice.

YES..I cut my hair. I love love love love love love it. I was nervous. It's a little longer than it was before I got my "hair enhancement" but I've been getting tons of compliments. It's so great to wake up and just go. I literally havent done my hair in 6 days..haha

Vintage gone Modern

I fell inlove with this vintage top I got at one of my favorite Harlem Vintage spots
Finderz Keeperz Vintage Boutique. When I saw it I had to have it.

Outfit
Top: Vintage see it HERE!!!! on $10 such a fashion STEELE!
Blazer: H&M
Shorts: Levis
Hosiery: American Apparel
Boots: NYLA Sully Clog

The detailing of this blouse is stunning. It's so delicate but I wanted to modernize it with the current trend I'm loving (shorts with hosiery) and blazers. When I saw this blazer in H&M i snatched it up...mainly because I love the color and because it was only $19.

Hour Glass

I am a lover of maxi skirts and when I saw this gorgeous maxi at Valley Thrift Shop, I snatched it up along with another long maxi skirt and a gorgeous dress. The best thing about it is the hour glass figure it gives me!

Outfit
Top: Forever 21 cami
Skirt: Thrifted at Valley Thrift Shop..see my other purchases a Green Maxi and Vintage Dress!!!!
Cardigan: Thrifted at No Relation Vintage NYC
Shoes: Jessica Simpson Dany Platform
Feather Earrings: Bought in Playa Del Carmen Mexico see more awesome earrings HERE!!!!!

I've noticed over the past few months I've gotten a little curvier..especially below the waist..lol. I aint complaining...thanks...I'm finally receiving my grown woman weight and I embrace it! Some people complain about how they look or want to change things. I don't think I'd ever get anything "done" although I certainly don't have any kinda problem with people who choose to. I love my gap toothed smile, the mole on my ankle and everything else. I wish I had less acne but thats about it. I'm happy with what God has given me...and the recent extra stuff too! Love Yourself!
Also I'm extra excited for all the things going on with the NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup Group. Some of us meetup last night and went to a great event at TOPSHOP Soho. Look out for a post soon.

The Hills are Alive

With the "Sound of Music". That is one of my favorite movies. I love when Julie Andrews "Maria" sings this song while on top of towering lushious green hills. Well my hill isn't a hill at all..its actually pretty flat but I sure felt like "Maria" twirling around in this very full skirt. These photos were taken this past weekend when the weather in NYC was actually pretty nice.

Outfit
Skirt: Thrifted at Valley Thrift Shop along with an awesome dress I wore for A Special Occasion. This skirt was only $3..I mean come on..fashion STEELE!!!
Crop Ribbed Top: H&M... see it worn differently HERE!!!!!
Earrings: Jewelry Plaze NYC
Ring: Forever 21
Shoes: Jessican Simpson Dany Platforms..see them differently HERE!!!

I am a lover of full skirts and vintage ankle length skirts. When I discovered this skirt I was super duper excited. I've always wanted a long full skirt in this exact color. The thrift Gods must really love me...lol. It's getting a tad bit warmer in NYC which is awesome but still breezy so I love that this skirt is actually quite heavy and thick.

I'm trying to be more excited when posing for photos..lol. I hope I am doing a good job. I've just started jumping lol. It's very hard to jump and not look crazy. What do you all think?

In Depth Look

I actually wore this outfit a few weeks ago to the Urban Outfitters Around World Designer Showcase.
I wanted to do a more thorough outfit post because this is my favorite vintage skirt. I have had it for so long I forgot where I got it from lol. I love the scalloped pattern and the silky feel of it.

I paired is with this snakeskin clutch and one of my favorite vintage sweaters from

This top is actually a body suit from American Apparel and its one of my favorite pieces of clothing. I also have it in black! The back of it is what drew me in. The deep scoop!

I am so ready for Spring. This outfit is right in line with my Winter to Spring change over. I still have everything covered from the wind and cold breezes but still a little skin to usher in Spring. I was going through my closet the other day and it is OUT OF CONTROL! I have to do my Spring cleaning because my closet is stuffed lol.
